Find a server and open it. MCPOrbit shows what the registry knows — the description, the version, the transports it speaks, and whether it wants auth — so you can read exactly what a server is before you set it up. Adding it is a separate step in the connection form.

MCPOrbit's registry layer is adapter-based. Two adapters ship out of the box — the Official Registry and Smithery's 11,000+ server index — and both are enabled by default. Each adapter exposes the same UI surface: search, paginate, add.

Is registry data live?
Close to it. Each page of results is cached in memory for 90 seconds, and you can refresh manually at any time.
Can I write my own adapter?
MCPOrbit ships as a signed application and its source is not published, so writing an adapter is not a procedure you can follow against the download. How registry adapters work explains what the layer does instead.
Will MCPOrbit ever charge to list a server?
No. Listing is free, will always be free, and is fully governed by the upstream registry's policies.
