Feature · Registry
The Official MCP Registry, inside the app.
Search and filter the entire registry.modelcontextprotocol.io catalogue without ever opening a browser. MCPOrbit caches results locally, supports lazy pagination, and adds new sources as the ecosystem grows.
One-click add
From search result to saved connection in two clicks.
Find a server. Click Add. MCPOrbit reads the registry entry, sets up the transport, and surfaces the new connection in your sidebar. No JSON editing.
- Lazy pagination — scroll loads more results
- Filters: transport, source, verified
- Cached locally with 1-hour TTL
- Manual refresh on any source

One contract. Every kind of registry.
MCPOrbit's registry layer is adapter-based. The Official Registry ships out of the box. We'll add new adapters as the ecosystem produces them — and contributors can build their own. Each adapter exposes the same UI surface: search, filter, paginate, add.
- Cross-source search
- Toggleable sources in settings
- One adapter contract for the ecosystem
- Community adapters, internal directories, future indexes
Registry FAQ
Is registry data live?
Cached for 1 hour by default; manually refreshable.
Can I write my own adapter?
Yes — adapters are TypeScript modules in the codebase. The interface is documented in /docs (see Adapters how-to once published).
Will MCPOrbit ever charge to list a server?
No. Listing is free, will always be free, and is fully governed by the upstream registry's policies.
