Copy a tested server's config for Claude Desktop
Open the connection row's menu and pick Claude Desktop under the Add to IDE heading. MCPOrbit generates the config block and names the file it belongs in; you merge it into Claude Desktop yourself.
Once you have connected and tested a server in MCPOrbit, hover its row in the sidebar and click the vertical-dots button that appears at the end of the row. Under the Add to IDE heading, pick Claude Desktop.
MCPOrbit shows the config snippet for that connection, the path the snippet belongs in, and the steps to finish. The path it names for Claude Desktop is ~/Library/Application Support/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json. If the connection is missing the command or URL the snippet needs, MCPOrbit shows what is missing instead of the snippet.
Click Copy Config to put the snippet on your clipboard. Then open that file yourself, create it if it does not exist, and merge the mcpServers block into it. Quit and restart Claude Desktop to load the server.
MCPOrbit does not read, write, diff or back up your Claude Desktop config. The handoff is a copy to your clipboard and a set of instructions; every change to the file is yours to make.
